Alexandra Thompson is an assistant news editor focused on health. She has a BSc in biology from the University of Leeds in the UK and has worked as a health reporter at Yahoo News and MailOnline and as an investigative reporter at BioPharm Insight, previously owned by the Financial Times. She has also worked as a freelance health journalist published in The Mail on Sunday. In 2015, she won Best Healthcare Professional Journalist at the Johnson & Johnson awards. She was also shortlisted for Feature of the Year (general audience) at the 2019 Medical Journalists' Association awards. She is author of the book .
